The danger of mixing chemical without the use of proper equipment or training.
Most of our customers look to us to automate chemical mixing and metering solutions because of the cost savings that will be achieved. As important is the results that will be achieved in improved safety in the work place.
The less worker intervention with any type of chemical hazardous or not the better. Any fluid or material used in your process could have a potential liability involved with it. How lets look at a few examples.
Handling
Manual make up is usually inaccurate and will affect you process. From a safety standpoint you expose workers to risks in moving fluids that may spill or crate a lifting risk.
Exposure
Lead, Asbestos, and other materials that are now synonymous with liability were at one time thought to be safe. You ignorance of a liability is not protection against a law suit. Actively trying to separate workers from exposure to any foreign material shows best practices and can be used to show your companies proactive approach to reducing employee risk.
Reactivity
In the work place what a chemical gets exposed to can never be completely tested in the laboratory. MSDS cover only what is required by the government and is limited to a small regiment of tests. Reducing where a chemical is used and the system that it is used within reduces risk to the worker and the company.
