Polymer Make up and Feed Systems
Liquid and Dry polymer learning center

We have put together a comprehensive website to help you learn about liquid and dry polymers. By reading through this site you can learn about the different types of polyelectrolytes, how they are used in solids liquid separation and retention as well as the type of equipment to prepare and dose polymers.

Please read on and feel free to contact us with your questions.

Do you know what you want in the way of polymer make up and feed but need someone to help?

The simple solution is to fill out one of our requests and you will be contacted by phone or e-mail by one of our engineers.

Click here to fill out an information form .

Do you just need a simple pump skid for dosing a solution polymer (dilute and shoot*)?

What is meant by dilute and shoot? Some polymers require little to prepare for use in your process. You need only to dilute the polymer to a strength that gets the best results in your process. This type of polymer is typically called a solution polymer and is water based. The polymer is delivered in concentrated form and after dilution is used for coagulation or flocculation of material.

Then go to our configurator. Here you will be able to build a simple system on line and have it delivered in a week.

It is easy, quick and some say fun!

Ready to give it a try. Go to the pump configurator.

Do you want to explore equipment solutions relating to flocculants or coagulant addition, or learn more about using liquid or dry polymer?
Then Continue to read on...

For us to help you we need you to select what type of polymer you will be using. Below you can choose liquid or dry polymer. This refers to the form the polymer is delivered to you. IF it is a fluid and is pumped directly to the process or is mixed up in a liquid polymer feeder then please choose liquid polymer.

IF you get you polymer in fifty pound bags, super sacks or is delivered in bulk in a powdered form you need to select dry polymer.

What type of polymer will you use?

Here is the Best Part!
We don't want to see our equipment after it leaves our door for another ten years. Yes you read it, we mean it- we expect you to continue to use our systems for ten years or longer. I you are regular in your maintenance the unit should continue to run for twenty years or longer.

If you can get that kind of reliability and operating life, your cost of ownership is close to ZERO!

Our design concept is to build you a system that will last you a lifetime. We may never sell you another system but you will be a great advertiser for us because your pleasant experience with us and our equipment will be something that you tell your associates about.

To better help you please carefully read the options below and follow the path that best suits what you are in need of.

"I just want to learn more about what you do and where you think the industry is going."

Then just read on...

We fought with the Big Boys of water treatment to try metering polymer solutions with Gear pumps and DC drives back in the early 70's. We were the cutting edge back then and we still are today.

The Race to the Bottom!
Right now you may be the victim of the race to the bottom. What race is this? The continued cheapening of components and construction of Polymer feed equipment.

You might be saying "so what that means I get less expensive equipment"

You would be right, but it is at the expense of performance and reliability.

Why is this happening? The dirty little secret of the world of water treatment is there are not that many suppliers of Polymer feed equipment that actually know what they are doing.

So your choices are limited as to how you can get equipment. Read on and see if any sound familiar…

Back Yard Benny
Benny is loyal trustworthy and local. He helps you fix your plant from time to time and he say "Hey I can build you one of those". Benny charges only his time and material and he looks like the low cost provider.

Benny does needs you to spend your time teaching him how the equipment works with the program, or what safety features are required for your industry, Our engineers work on chemical feed systems every day and have been for the last forty years.

Your equipment will be cheap but it won't be purpose build and guaranteed to perform like ours is.

You pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

The Water Doctor

You can buy your equipment as part of a "chemical program" from a "value added" supplier that has "global experience" and "industry experts". The way that the Big Boys are able to afford marketers to come up with all those buzz words it to charge high gross margins. On top of that, most of them internally sell the equipment that to the group that supports your industry so you pay for two mark-ups. Oops, it is actually three mark ups because most of the big chemical companies buy the equipment from supplies like Chem-Flow and private label the equipment. To stay competitive with back yard Benny the chemical company continually reduces the quality of components workmanship so that they can still charge the BIG GROSS MARGIN.

One other tidbit they figured out, they typically only hold onto an account for three or four years so if the equipment falls apart in that time so what. It just means the customer or the competitor can get no value out of it.

Back to the Race
Now you know why workmanship and component quality keep going down and the price seems to be going up.

How do YOU win the Race?

Now you are able to go factory direct, cut out the margins of middlemen and buy from the guy who has been building the gear for the Water Doctors. What does that do for you it allows you to get better quality for a lower price.

In many cases you will now be able to buy a system of twice the quality that you had access to before.

We find that our direct clients become raving fans of Chem-Flow because dealing with us is so much fun, and we know what we are doing. Giving us your problem eliminates it. If you want to get us to help then please contact us by filling out a request form. We will have someone in touch with you by e-mail or phone ASAP!
